Voice control allows you to activate or control a wide range of Home Automation and AV devices simply using your voice. We believe Voice Control is not a trend that is likely to fizzle out, but rather an indicator of more advanced home technology yet to come.
You can program and then activate a ‘Scene’ (or series of events) with a simple voice command— For example, walk in the door and say “Alexa, Dad’s home”—lights up the hallway and kitchen, fires up your favourite Pandora station, while the door locks itself behind you. Need to know the date or set a timer? Just ask. Want to know a fun fact or play a song? Just ask! There are a number of Voice Control units available at present (Amazon Echo, Google Home, Siri) but we at Status like Amazon Echo as it integrates easily with a Control4 Automation system. Amazon Echo and Echo Dot are bluetooth speakers that double as a personal assistant and Smart Home controller and go by the name “Alexa”.
